Keynote speaker

We are thrilled to announce our keynote speaker is Noliwe Rooks, PhD, Brown University. Rooks is the Chair and a Professor in Africana Studies She is the author of Cutting School (The New Press) as well as White Money/Black Power and Hair Raising. The 2021 Conference will address the impact of privatization on our public schools over the past decade and recent legislative actions. How have various education policies and programs contributed to the increased segregation of our public schools by race and income? What is contributing to the growth in the number of high-poverty schools? Join us for this critical community conversation with our expert panelists!
